Rafting

To have a break from paragliding in Pokhara, we went for Rafting. Not organized by one of the trekking agencies, no, it was organized by "Babu". Babu is the sun of a fisherman in the mountains who was once impressed by western people padelling / rafting / kajaking down the river by his house. He dreamed that he one time will do that too and made his way with 5 US$ in the pocket to Pokhara.

A few journals published his story about how he beccame a Kajaker and he mentioned that his next dream will be learn to fly paraglides. Well, this was a year ago and by now he is flying too and joined the few pilots of Nepal. His next dream is to fly down from Everest... well, this will be another story to come.... anyway:

Babu organized the Bus to the river, the rafts and alll other needed equipment for only 40US$. Together with Alexis from France we have had two good rafting guides for two boats with 6 people each. We drove to Bezi Sahar, the starting point of the Anapurna Circuit Trek and went on with the local bus up the river. It took us 4 hours to drive there, 5 hours rafting on the river and another 4 hours back to Pokhara. I was sooooo exhausted that the only thing I was able to do was going straight into the bed and sleep for 12 hours.
